Joyce donated several of her art pieces to Carnegie Mellon, which are on display in Scott Hall.
Joyce joined the Carnegie Mellon Board of Trustees in 1995, becoming a life trustee in 2000 and an emerita trustee in 2008. She also served on the School of Art’s presidential advisory board. Joyce (Bowie) and Sherman Scott’s generosity and support for their alma mater over the years has made similar transformational experiences possible for many CMU students, faculty and staff.
In addition to their philanthropic support of CMU, the Scotts run the Sherman and Joyce Scott Family Foundation, which they founded in 2012 to support education and programs that provide access to education for individuals with special needs.
